Firstly, we both thank you very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Hello Friends! Linzey and I have made the crazy decision to do a skydive on Monday 17th August at 8am. We aren't using this page to help pay for the jump, but thought it would be nice to try and raise a bit of money for a good cause! A21 is a non profit organisation which provides a secure environment for people who have suffered at the hands of human trafficking and slavery. Slavery is a $15 billion dollar industry, with only 1% of victims ever rescued. A21's strategy is to Reach, Rescue and Restore lives. This involves reducing vulnerability within communities by engaging people in events, presentations and educational programmes to prevent slavery from happening. They also work closely with Law Enforcement on the ground to assist in the prosecution of human traffickers and identify victims through hotlines. After this they help to restore peoples lives back to normality, providing them with access to housing, medical treatment, counseling, education and employment.
We picked this charity because before researching, we had no idea of the severity of the human trafficking industry. We feel it is not a highlight in the media, as a lot of world problems are not. Therefore we are using this opportunity to shed some light on this terrible subject and inform people. We are not looking for huge donations, anything you can give will help to transform and change lives.
Thank you very much for reading, we are both terrified (and excited) for Monday! We will keep you updated!
Many Thanks,
Linzey and Willow
