Story
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) is a form of blood cancer and is the most common form of leukaemia found in the western world. Recently, I was diagnosed with CLL after having a routine blood test.
Rather than sit around "watching and waiting" for this pesky little blood disorder to develop and require treatment, I have decided to raise money for CLL support UK and entered the British 10K run with my daughter Sarah on July 15th.
Neither of us have done much running recently so the training required is definitely a challenge particularly as we strive to get from the couch to 10K in under 3 months.
My chosen charity, CLL Support UK, are a patient led UK charity whose mission is to support and empower CLL patients, their families and their careers through education and access to reliable, relevant and current information and has proved a great source to help me better understand the condition.
I have been overwhelmed by the amazing kindness of friends and family so far and thank you all for your generous support to this worthy cause.
