Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In September 2018, Andy and I will be running the Great North run for SMA UK in memory of Harvey Bailey.

Harvey was the same age as our son Alfie but sadly lost his battle in February 2009 two weeks after finding out he had Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Harvey would have celebrated his tenth birthday in June this year.

SMA UK were a great comfort to Harvey's parents back then and various friends and family members have supported this charity over the last nine years. Now it's our turn!

I started my Couch 2 5k journey just over a year ago and after an ankle injury set back last October, I have completed three 10k races. Great North run 2018 will be my first (official) Half marathon.

Andy started his running journey two years ago although people think he has been running much longer than this. He has run various 10k, half marathons and relays, too many to mention! This is a training run for Valencia marathon in December.
