In 2018 I attended the wedding of a family friend and met Chris, the Bride's father. We talked about his beautiful daughter and the wonderful wedding. We then began to talk about Chris himself and all I can say is WOW!
In life, if your lucky, you get to meet someone like Chris who is a true inspiration and totally changes your views on life.
We spoke about him being an ex soldier in the Queens Regiment and that he had a brain aneurysm that changed his life completely. He told me about the Queens hospital in Romford that saved his life and the Walton Centre Neurology hospital in Liverpool that did a second brain operation!!!! At this point you imagine that the conversation went a bit quiet but no.... Chris is one amazing man who loves life and in the time he's not being an artist he is doing charity work for homeless veterans!!!!! If I could capture the pure devotion to this in his voice and mannerism I would, but...all I can say is that I have been so inspired by this man that in April 2020 I will be running the Manchester marathon (illness and injuries permitting!!!) to help raise money for Chris' chosen charity "help4homelessveterans”.
Help 4 Homeless Veterans was founded by a former soldier 8 years ago and has helped in the region of 600 veterans who would have been homeless without their help. The charity relies totally on public donations with no government help.
Any donations, however small, would be so appreciated.
