Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Fundraising page.
On September 4th 2021 I will be taking on the SouthCoast challenge. An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, over the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the famous South Downs Way National Trail with stunning views over the sea to a Brighton mid-point. Devil's Dyke, a few ups & downs all lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an 100km amazing journey
I signed up to take this challenge on last year 2020 but due to COVID it was cancelled and my place was transferred to 2021. Unfortunately in this time my Nan has sadly passed away. I will be taking on this challenge in her memory.
My Nan had suffered from vascular dementia for over ten years. It is a cruel disease, robbing her of memories, providing difficulties with communicating and indeed leaving her with a poor quality of life. She didn’t recognise us (her family) and got aggressive - not meaning to. Margaret was the most wonderful wife, Mum and Nan and would have loved to have spoilt her great grandsons Oscar, Fraser and Archie.
I would appreciate any sponsors to raise money for Alzheimer’s to try and find a cure for this dreadful disease.
Dementia is currently the UK’s biggest killer. One in three babies born this year will go on to develop the condition and the worst part about all of this is there's no cure. You can't ever prepare for that and I really don't want other families to have to watch their loved ones disappear in front of them.
No one should have to suffer this heartache and pain. That's why I'm supporting the amazing work done by Alzheimers Research UK. Together we can find an answer.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I will be grateful for your support x x
