Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year i decided to challenge myself, and boy did I.  I applied for a place on this September's 'Great North Run' and was accepted - god help me arrrrrgh ......

I have decided to try & raise money for Children's Asperger Syndrome - as this condition is close to my family's heart

Asperger syndrome, is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people look at the world & interact with others.  Children & adults with Asperger syndrome see, hear & feel the world differently to other people, but it's not classed as an illness or disease & unfortunately, cannot be cured..

Children & people with Asperger syndrome are of average or above average intelligence. They do not usually have the learning disabilities that many autistic people have, but they may have specific learning difficulties. They have fewer problems with speech but may still have difficulties with understanding & processing language.

With the right sort of support, all can be helped to live a more fulfilling life of their own choosing.

So, i hope to finish this run (or in my case probably walk / crawl) on their behalf, i have set up a 'justgiving' page - for any donations - anything would be appreciated

wish me luck & thank you
