St Mary’s Hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-shortening conditions throughout South Cumbria. Only 18% of our funding comes from the NHS, the rest comes from our supporters. All our services are provided free to patients and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself, Clare Chilton and Laura Hatfield are having our hair cut short and donating the hair to Locks of Love which creates hair prosthetics for children under 21 suffering from long term medical hair loss. The prostheses help to restore self-esteem and confidence enabling them to face the world and their peers.  They require a minimum of 10 inches so we have all been avoiding having our hair cut for the last few months.  I am a little nervous about going shorter but I am assured that "it will grow back"!

I am using this as an opportunity to raise money for St Mary's Hospice in memory of my Dad.
