Giving 3 years of Hair and Hope to young people with cancer · 29 November 2022
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, The Little Princess Trust is there to offer a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. The charity also funds childhood cancer research seeking to find kinder and more effective treatments. Please visit www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help LPT give young people back what cancer takes away. The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding.
In late 2019, I had my normal hair cut to keep my hair shoulder length. Then lockdown happened, just as I was due my next hair cut. My lock down hair gave me the idea to keep on growing and allow my hair to get long enough to donate. It grew to a healthy ponytail and recently Pippy Longstocking plaits. Even though I am very comfortable with this style, it is time to break that comfort and go extreme. On measuring, it will be 12- 16 inches that I will donate, which will hopefully provide hope and hair to the recipient. £550 covers the cost of making, fitting and styling one wig, so I would love to be able to send this money, with my hair to the Little Princess Trust.
