St Luke's (Cheshire) Millionaires Challenge · 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
Lou Hassall, was a co-worker first and then she became a very good friend. Lou was a fighter, and she ended her very long fight at St Lukes Hospice. Lou believed in people, and believed in me, even me when I didnt always believe in myself. She would be very proud that I am doing this challenge in support of St Lukes, proud of Helen Savage who is also doing this, and a lovely colleague friend from work, Jill Dawson, who got roped in to this too! Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
