We are the UK’s leading autism research charity. Our mission is to create breakthroughs that enable all autistic people to live happier, healthier, longer lives. We do this by funding research, shaping policy and working with autistic people to understand their needs.

Story

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am currently training to race in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Oct 11th 2009.  My chosen charity to run and raise money for is the 'Autism Speaks' http://www.autismspeaks.org.uk/

Having taught and worked with children with autism for some years, this a condition that is very close to my heart and Autism Speaks is the only UK charity that conducts biomedical research into the causes of autism spectrum disorders.

Autism receives far less research funding than any other comparable medical condition. It attracts less than 0.5% of state medical research funds even in developed countries such as the UK and US and to date little private or charitable support. By sponsoring me, and dontating your money to Autism speaks you will be helping the charity achieve major progress in determining and understanding the causes of autism, ultimately giving hope to the whole autism community.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks so much!
