Wye Valley Mighty Hike 2021 · 11 September 2021 ·

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.

Myself, Donna, Keri and Kelly will be completing the 26 mile hike through the Wye Valley on the 11th September 2021.

Sadly, all 4 of us are only to familiar of the affect cancer has on not only the individual suffering from this disease but their loved ones. Money raised for Macmillan will help them to provide a variety of services that help make sure no one has to go through cancer alone. An incredible 98% of MacMillan's income comes from voluntary donations from supporters who bake, swim, cycle, play a raffle, donate or fundraise their own way to help them to be right there for everyone living with cancer.

We are walking this in memory of our Grandad Brian, Uncle Paul and Aunt Dawn 💚

Some information on where the money raised will go :

Every £150 we raise could help provide a woman with breast cancer with sensitive answers to the questions she has about her diagnosis. Practical advice on how to cope with the side-effects of treatment. And help with adjusting to going back to work, slowly.

Every £500 we raise could help a Dad work out how to
tell his children he has cancer. Apply for the right benefits to
protect their home when he has to stop work. Get a disabled
parking badge so the family can still get out and about to
live life together. And apply for a grant for childcare during
treatment. It could help him understand what the future might
 look like.
