I have been lucky enough to work at Pendleside Hospice for almost three years and I am privileged to be part of such a phenomenal team. I am also extremely humbled that in my work I meet the patients and families that Pendleside helps and I witness first-hand the amazing impact this special place has on everyone that comes into contact with it. 

I am 46 years old, in general good health and in January I noticed my lymph nodes in my groin were swollen. I thought it was probably just a random infection until my leg and foot swelled too. Several tests and scans later and I have been floored by my diagnosis of Follicular Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, stage 2. I am about to start eight months of chemotherapy followed by two years of maintenance injections. 😳

I have been told that I might not lose my hair but many people are told that and lose it anyway (it comes out in clumps in the shower or simply stays on your pillow when you get up!) I really don’t want to risk experiencing that. 

So I feel like this is the only aspect of my current situation that I can truly control  - when and how I lose my hair!

By taking control and Braving the Shave something good can come from a not-so-great situation - helping Pendleside help more people like me and others that need it.
