Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Let me tell you about an amazing family I know, The Richardsons.

I first met Nicola in 2005 as we were both pregnant with twins, we became close over the months and both went on to have two boys just two days apart. Harrison and Alexander were born healthy and gorgeous on 24th September 2005. Life was hectic but good and Nicola and I grew even closer, sharing our ups and downs as new mums again ( we both have older boys ). Then one day in February 2007 Nicola and Ian's life changed forever when their beautiful happy and healthy little boy never woke up. He died in his sleep. Cot death as many people know it. How can a healthy 17 month old toddler go to sleep and never wake up. How? Why? The answer is, we don't know but this year we hope to get a step closer to finding those answers. In the year that Harrison, Alexander's brother turns 10, without his twin by his side we hope to raise 100k to pay for Professor Neil Sebire, a leading professor in his field to carry out a 2 year research program. Such research in to deaths in the over 1's has never been done so this will be a world first.

Over the years I have supported Nicola and Ian in any way I can, from running London Marathon to attending Alexander's Charity Ball that Nicola plans and hosts every year but this year I wanted to do something special, something out of my comfort zone.....so we came up with this crazy idea of cycling non stop from London Tower to Blackpool Tower. In case you are wondering that is 315 miles with over 17, 000 feet of climbing! * gulp*. But no matter how much pain I'm in, how much I want to give up, get off and walk, I won't. I will remind myself how many times Nicola and Ian have wanted to " Give up and get off" yet they have carried on through their pain and heartache.

If everyone just gave £1 it would help enormously.

Thank you x
