London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·

SEED sponsors children in the Iringa Rural area of Tanzania to attend local secondary schools and then continue into tertiary education, including sixth form, university and vocational education college/courses. We also support Income Generation Projects back in the villages the students are from.

Story

In June 2015, my stepson Jack's life was tragically cut short, when he died suddenly, of a pulmonary embolism. Jack was passionate about everybody achieving their potential and he believed in fairness for all, particularly in terms of education. He felt privileged to have attended Birmingham University, where he studied for a degree in Political Science and truly thought that others should have the same chances
as he did.

Whilst at University, Jack talked about volunteering for an overseas organisation, helping children in Africa to access some of those same opportunities. With this in mind, I have chosen to run this year’s London Marathon, not only in memory of him (I believe he had a small part to play in me actually getting into it-thanks Jack), but also for S.E.E.D, a small locally based charity, committed to providing secondary education for those who would otherwise, not be able to access it.

Thank you so much for your support.
