I hope you don't mind me sharing this. Asking for donations is never something I find easy, but this is a cause that is very close to my heart.

Sadly, cancer touches so many of our lives. Last year, I lost my Uncle Richard to prostate cancer at just 55 years old. Watching someone you love go through that battle and seeing the impact it has on family and friends, is something that never leaves you.

More recently, the close family member of my daughter's best friend, just 17 years old, has been told that her cancer has returned and that more tumours have been found. Seeing someone so young face such a devastating challenge is truly heartbreaking, and it serves as a reminder that cancer does not discriminate.

That's why my dance group, Yasmin's Dance, and I will be taking part in the 24-Hour Relay for Life on 11–12 July in Yate.

Together, we'll be running, walking, fundraising, and supporting everyone affected by cancer - standing beside those currently fighting, remembering those we have lost, and helping to fund the research that gives families hope for the future.

If you're able to support us, no matter how small the donation, it would mean a great deal to us and to the families who benefit from the incredible work of Cancer Research UK.
