Lisa goes for a run

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
I got a place in the public ballot to run a casual 26.2mi at the London Marathon in April! The furthest I ran before I got a place was 10k.
I thought I’ll never get in. Karma and naivety is a funny thing.
This said I want to make my ballot count. I chose to fund for Diabetes UK for both my dad and grandma who have Type 2 diabetes. When they were first diagnosed, they didn’t have the information on what diabetes meant for them and how serious it can be if ignored. The advancement of medicine and the introduction of health checks were not there.
It was simply you ate unhealthily and you live with the permanent disease.
I will also be doing this for those who have Type 1 diabetes as they are heroes themselves.
Diabetes UK seeks to raise awareness of both Type 1 and 2 diabetes that affects over 4 million of us in the UK. The charity also looks at the causes of diabetes, enable people to prevent or manage their condition, and eventually find a cure. How awesome is that?
Any donations or encouragement would be a huge help. I also love cats so please send me photos.
