Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

There isn't anything I wouldn't do for local Hospice Care so after I lost my own Dad, who was aged just 45 (to lung cancer) when I was in my late teens, I learnt early in my life the importance of local Hospice Care. My local hospice is Garden House Hospice Care.

This Hospice only receives a third of its funding from the NHS, so over £2.2m more needs to be raised by people like me........ So please help me raise £3,800 from this challenge towards providing local hospice care.

So why sponsor me:-

This is not a holiday its a very tough and challenging trek. I will be very much out of my comfort zone as I am scared of spiders, leeches, snakes and anything wriggly and smaller than me, plus things bigger than me covered in fur with big teeth and claws!

The thought of no bathroom and no showers fills me with horror, and on top of that I will be living in a tent I have put up myself in the middle of a 130 million year old rain forest and jungle. With very basic food and no chocolate!

I wont be lonely though as I will be walking with 210 different animal species including the Borneo Bay Cat, Clouded Leopard, Hydrophis Sibauensis (he prefers to be called "Mr highly venomous water snake"  - #gulp!), Kopsteins bronzeback snake (I wont accidentally step on him as he is 1.5metres long #gulp) interestingly there is 160 different types of snakes where I am going wow ........ I am hoping not to see a Waglers pit viper, he is bright vivid green and lives in the tree tops I will be walking under.....

So as you can see this is taking me right out of MY comfort zone, but by doing it, I can help local families receive an improved comfort zone for THEM, through the most amazing and professional vital Hospice care my fundraising will then provide.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully support me on my intrepid adventure and of course this worthwhile amazing cause.
