Story

Every day of the year, your local air ambulance (Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day. The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions.

We decided to make a festive display out of bales when we were due to open my day nursery in 2015, we have made the display in 2015, 2016, 2017 and this year 2021. We make the display out of bales kindly donated to us by neighbouring farmers, a 20ft Christmas tree supplied by Grange Farm Christmas Barn. At night the bale sculpture is lit up with over 4,500 lights, As we are in strange times right now, we wanted to do something this year to make Christmas time that bit more festive and raise money for a charity that is close to our hearts.
