Story
I'm going to aim to do 75 miles but knowing how my brain works, I will absolutely have 100 miles as my focus.
I won't be running this because y'know- I have a dodgy knee and I'm nearly 40. I know my limits! I spend way too much time at the gym lifting weights, so I thought, I might as well try make the dreaded cardio side have a purpose!
Any donations are appreciated- no matter how small. The work that Mermaids do is so vital for young trans people, and so much more needs to be done to protect and support trans youth.
If a charity like Mermaids existed when I was younger, it massively would have helped me with how I navigated the world as non-binary kid because even as an adult it is tough!
A bit about Mermaids and Miles for Mermaids:
I'm getting active this May and taking action to change the lives of young trans people across the UK. I'm challenging myself to get active for one very important reason. To help ensure trans young people and their families can continue to access the emotional, informative, and peer-to-peer support they deserve. Mermaids' vision is a safe, inclusive society where trans young people are empowered to live their best lives. Mermaids say: Our amazing supporters are the reason we’re able to keep helping the trans community, year after year. So this May, we’re asking you to get active with your fundraising by taking on Miles for Mermaids.
