Story
Our mission to support Teams4U started when their founder, Dave, came to speak to us at a breakfast meeting about the traumatic time the people of Uganda have suffered, and how his charity is working to help them rebuild their lives. By the end of his talk we were all so moved - and more importantly, inspired to help - that we pledged to make this our main cause for 2012-13.
In June 2013 ten of our Club will be joining Dave and the team in the Dokolo district of Uganda to help facilitate a programme to fight HIV/AIDS in the area.
To date only 13% of the Dokolo population have been tested and less than 20% of school children have received adequate information on preventing the spread of the disease. We will be helping Teams 4U in their work with the local health authorities to conduct further testing and to raise awareness of the problem.
We are contributing our time and funds but need help with funding to complete this charitable work.
Over the next few months you will see us undertake loads of activities, from Santa Dashes to battery-operated bunny-racing to Christmas carol singing...please support us and help us make a difference!
