Story
On October 1st we will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon for Parkinson's UK which is a condition that Tony, my Pap, suffered from for several years. The disease has not taken away his great sense of humour and affection, but it has rendered him unable to live freely and has resulted in the development of dementia alongside it. From his milkman days to his great passion for sport, Tony has always been loved by so many and has always inspired us. Therefore, this is our way of giving back for all the love and laughs he has given family and friends over the years. Parkinson's condition can affect a person in a variety of ways and prevent people from living independently. Therefore my Nan has been an unsung hero in Tony's life and continues to go above and beyond to help him feel the happiest and most comfortable he can be every single day. Together, this has motivated us to push ourselves further and to show gratitude for our loved ones. My Pap has always been my best friend, someone I could always count on, and seeing him unable to do the things he enjoys drives me to take the initiative on his behalf and represent in these events to help prevent conditions like this from worsening in the lives of many other people, including Tony's. As a result, any donations to a wonderful organisation that aids people like Tony who live with such difficult conditions every day will be greatly appreciated. Me and Matt have always been up for a challenge, with us both studying in Cardiff this event deemed the perfect opportunity to set a big goal and support an amazing cause. Thank you for taking the time to read and donate to our event. It means so much, especially to my Nan and Pap. See you in October for our 13-mile run! We can't wait :)
