Story
On 7th March 2019, Katie passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest. Since her passing and Covid getting in the way, we haven’t been able to raise money for this charity which is very close to our heart. With it coming up to 5 years since Katie passed away, we are looking to start raising money and getting involved in a number of events to help CRY reduce the number of undiagnosed cardiac conditions and to help prevent families and friends from losing a loved one. The first event we are beginning with is the Royal Parks Half marathon. This is Lizzie’s first half marathon and my 2nd so will be a challenge for both of us considering neither of us particularly enjoy running and we are not avid runners. Any donations would be extremely appreciative, and we look forward to our training ahead and running for Katie.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
