The Camino de Santiago deCompostela · 29 April 2019

We’re the 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK. The carers, researchers and healthcare professionals. The family, friends and fundraisers. United by a clear vision: a future free from arthritis. One in which no one is limited by the pain, fatigue and isolation that arthritis can cause.

Story

I am walking this route in aid of Scotland Versus Arthritis and I am undertaking this challenge because my daughter was diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis at the age of 16. Until this time I naively associated arthritis with older age and joint degeneration causing aches and pains. I now know that it covers a range of conditions and causes not only extreme pain in joints and muscles but can affect other parts of the body such as the immune system thus having a much wider impact on the lifestyles  of those who experience it.                                                                                                                                                                                      The plan is to raise £5000, but just as importantly to raise awareness of the condition and its impact on people of all ages. I will start my walk on April 29th 2019 and aim to finish in Santiago around 35 days later. I am funding the trip myself so that all money raised through sponsorship will go directly to the charity.

Any donation big or small is hugely appreciated- every little helps!
