On Saturday 21st May, myself and 9 crazy friends will be taking part in The 24 hour Three Peaks National Challenge! We will be attempting to climb the three tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden. 

Our challenge begins at 7am on Saturday, ascending Ben Nevis in Scotland. We will hopefully complete this in around 5 hours (including the descent). We will then travel to Scafell Pike, starting the climb at 6.30pm for approximately 4 hours. We will finally travel to Wales, arriving at around 2.30am on Sunday morning. Here we will climb Snowdon and hope to finish the challenge around 7.30am in the morning! 

The total distance hiking is 23 miles and the total ascent is over 10,000ft (3064m)!!! We will be travelling around 460 miles between all the mountains, not including our journey up to Scotland and back home from Wales. I think that will be a quiet journey back home! 

We have done some team fundraising for another charity (Prader - Willi Syndrome)  but I also wanted to ask close family and friends to support me and raise funds for Poland Syndrome if possible.  As you know this cause is close to my heart as Jess was born with PS. She will be undergoing more surgery in September, but the plan will be a long 10 year ongoing process, and many more hospital visits for years after that too. She amazes me everyday with her positive nature and makes me very proud. 

I took on the challenge to show myself, Jess & George that you can overcome hurdles in life, just try your hardest and give it a go! It’s certainly quite a challenge and to think a few years ago I was scared to walk up the stairs after my heart illness, let alone take on the 3 tallest mountains in the UK!
