Winner, the Preston Road Women's Centre is a safe space run by women for women in the Preston Road are and all over Hull. We help women and children to survive and recover from domestic violence and abuse and move on positively with their lives.

Story

Winner, the Preston Road Women's Centre, provides information, support and advice to women in Hull. It is a multi-purpose organisation run by women, for women, offering a wide range of services under one roof.

The Centre has outgrown its current base in the Big Purple House on Preston Road, and needs a new one. Your support and donations will help to build a much needed purpose-built building, which will allow Winner to continue to support women and children from across Hull.

Why help?

  • Domestic abuse does not discriminate: it can happen to anyone
  • 25,000 women and 18,000 children in Hull experience domestic abuse

  • Two women are killed every week in England and Wales by a current or former partner
  • On average, a woman is assaulted 35 times before her first call to the police
  • Women and children are often forced to leave their homes in fear of abuse

What does Winner do?

  • Safe, affordable housing across the city
  • Accredited training in a variety of subjects
