Story

Hello, Liz here! My father (Norm) and I are cycling from Eastbourne to Paris (I know! It’s far!!!) this September to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. The Wilfride totals approximately 280 miles over 4 days! We are seeking your sponsorship support for this challenge, every little helps!

We will set off on the 22nd of September from the hospice. Our route takes us to Dover - Calais, Abbeville, Beauvais and into Paris.

The reason we have decided to undertake this challenge is to raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, who hold a special place in our hearts for the care and support provided to Liz’s mother, Lynn, when she began to lose her battle with skin cancer last July.

All the staff were incredible to Lynn and her family during this devastating time, helping her family be there for her during the covid-19 pandemic and keeping Lynn comfortable and happy as she approached the end of her life.

St Wilfrid's mission is to transform end of life care for the people of Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield and all the points in between. They are a charity that relies on voluntary gifts to support over 70% of their vital work. It costs just over £15,000 a day to provide care and support services across the catchment area.

We are both amateurs when it comes to cycling, so this is quite the challenge for us! You can follow us on strava to see how we are progressing with our training (do send us some kudos too!)
