Sophie's Big Chop

Liza Putwain is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Sophie's Big Chop · 24 October 2020

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Sophie has been growing her hair for the last 3 years with the intention of having it cut short, in order to donate to the Little Princess Trust. We are extremely proud that she had set her goal and stuck to it, culminating in this generous act. Although Sophie can't remember when her Nanny was receiving treatment for cancer and wore a wig, but I know how important it was to her for her confidence and sense if identity. Cancer is traumatic enough and losing one's hair adds to that - especially for children and teenagers.

Hair donations are just part of what is needed though. It takes £550 to make each wig, so Sophie is hoping that she can raise some money to go towards helping her hair being turned into a wig for another child.

If you can afford to make a donation to her first ever funding raising, she would be absolutely over the moon.
