The Kirkwood Midnight Memory Walk 2022 · 2 July 2022 ·

The Kirkwood exists to improve the quality of life for local people, against all odds. We help those in our care to live well and make the most of every single day. We make the complex simple by focusing on what's important, and we support families and loved ones to live on and live well.

Story

On Saturday July 2nd, Liz, Jude and Gordon will be doing The Kirkwood’s 10 mile Midnight Memory Walk in Huddersfield with Helen at home in Oz, in memory of Liz and Helen’s dad, who spent his final days in the Hospice in 1994 and Jude’s mum, who passed away with Vascular Dementia in 2018. They are also supporting Jude’s dad, who has lung cancer.

A charity close to all our hearts, Kirkwood Hospice opened its doors in March 1987 to care for local people living with life-limiting illnesses and provide support for their families and friends.

Today, The Kirkwood is not just a building, an In-Patient Unit or place of care. it is a movement of people.

Through thick and thin, the good and the bad, they make a difference to the lives of those who need it most. From the largest towns and villages, to the furthest corners of Kirklees, they support life in all areas of our community, delivering dedicated, personal care and support to all those affected by a life limiting illness.
