I was thrilled to discover that this year's Brighton Marathon is taking place on 2nd April - World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is a cause close to my heart, personally and professionally. 

After seven wonderful years of working with autistic people and their families at ACE (Autism Centre of Excellence at Cambridge), it's great to be embarking on a challenge to raise funds as well as awareness for this complex and often misunderstood condition. 

Together we can make positive change and help improve the quality of life for autistic people, many of whom face ongoing serious difficulties. Research, effective support, acceptance and ultimately embracing and celebrating difference all play a crucial part in ensuring autistic people can live full and happy lives.
