This year I am going to take on my first ever half marathon in the Great North Run in September and will be running the Manchester 10km in May as part of my training  

The Tom Clarke Foundation is an amazing charity with a cause close to my heart. Tom was a fellow KPMG colleague who I did not have the honour of working with, but I have learned so much about him. Tom lived with Crohn’s disease and discovered that he had cancer when a flare up didn’t improve  Tom sadly passed away aged just 29. 

Setting up the Foundation was his idea and Tom’s parents and friends run it today. The Foundation supports those with Cancer, Crohn’s & Colitis and those who may require Hospice care in the UK. You can read more about the work the charity does here: https://www.thetomclarkefoundation.org

One of the charities the Foundation supports is the Christie Hospital in Manchester whose world class treatment has benefitted my Dad. I will be running every mile in training and the race for the amazing work they do! 

So, I will be combining a great cause and a personal challenge to raise money for Tom - along with a team of KPMG runners at the Great North Run  Please give generously and cheer me on x
