In October, Lizzie is dragging her parents - Jenny and Roger out of running retirement and forcing them to run 13.1miles with her, whilst raising money for Alzheimer's UK.
Alzheimers UK is a cause particularly close to our hearts. Dementia is a disease that dramatically impacts the lives of both the sufferer and those that care for them.
Over the years, we have lost two close family members to the disease, as well as holding the hands of friends and colleagues as they too watched their loved ones deteriorate.
By 2021, it is estimated that over a million people will be living with Dementia - an utterly terrifying statistic. Alzheimer’s Society as a charity both invests in research into the disease, as well as supporting those affected by dementia - shining a light on the daily struggle, and help form bonds between fellow carers and promote peer led support.
