Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I'm Lizzy, and ordinary 17 years old with a smile and a dream.

This project is dedicated to two lovely women who inspire me the most. One is my own mum Maggie, a bubbly, beautiful and amazing woman. The other one is a lady called Jessica, who I have never had the honour of meeting, she was my best friend's mum.

I am blessed to be able to spend all my life with my mum, our relationship changes everyday, mother-daughter, friend-friend, enemy-enemy (more like plants vs. zombies!) etc. We were separated for a year when I was twelve, during which I studied in England alone and she lived in China. That year made me realize how much family meant to me and how much I needed her in my life, and I feel so lucky to have her.

'Mum' acts as the most important person in a child life, but unfortunately, Jessica passed away four years ago due to cancer, leaving her family in deep grief and sadness.

I have known her daughter Alice for three years now, she is no doubt one of the bravest, most fantastic girl. I learnt so much by becoming friends with her, as I admire her deeply for being such a strong person. At the same time, I witnessed the occasional tears she cried and the sadness she wouldn't show easily. Many nights I sat with her, wishing that I can do something to bring her mum back, I'd do anything.

Unfortunately I can't do anything except for offering her a shoulder to cry on when she needs one, but I have no doubt that Alice will get through anything because she is truly amazing. She inspired me to start this project- I want to help children who are facing the fear of losing their mums due to cancer, I want to wipe away their tears.

So please help me by making a donation, together we can fight cancer and return the children their mums with a healthy, happy glow.

Here is what I will be doing to fundraise:

I bake and paint watercolour postcards for sale, you can either get hold of them by keeping an eye with my updates, or e-mail me to place an order. I will also be running the 5k Race for Life in May.

I also offer a fun part of fundraising to get you guys involved- please make a donation then talk to me, name any favours or any challanges you want me to attempt, from car washing to make up lessons to climbing a mountain to cutting my long hair- get creative! As long as the suggestion is sensible, I won't turn you down.

Please talk to me by emailing lizzyapril328@yahoo.com

Thank you again and please donate!
