Girlguiding Anglia is proud to be part of Girlguiding, the UK’s leading charity for girls & young women. Guiding offers girls & young women a space where they can be themselves, gain life skills & discover new opportunities whilst making a positive difference to their community & the wider world.

Story

Jerome and I are slightly insane and for that reason, while the young people are working hard to raise £3400 to help them reach the World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015, we will be getting fit by running five half marathons! Aiming for PBs every race, we hope that you will support us.

On our calendar -

23rd November - Norfolk - City of Norwich Half Marathon - 1:54:55 (PB) - Conditions: Raining cats and dogs

7th December - Bedfordshire - Bedford Half Marathon - 1:51:02 (PB) - Conditions: Cold, rainy, cold, sunny, blinding

1st February - Hertfordshire - Watford Half Marathon - 1:50:10 (PB) - Conditions: Very cold (two layers of skins!!), windy and hilly!

22nd February - Lincolnshire - Sleaford Half Marathon - 1:49:46 (PB) - Conditions - VERY windy, approximately 2 miles off road on muddy farm tracks!

22nd March -Suffolk - Stowmarket Half Marathon and County Championships!

FIVE COUNTIES. FIVE HALF MARATHONS. FIVE MONTHS.

Any donations to my cause will be split between the Girlguiding Anglia Guides, Emilie, Jess, Ellenor, Charlotte, Rachel, Ellen and Olivia. To donate to the Scouts, please visit Jerome's page.

In Summer 2015, our unit, made up of 27 Scouts from Bedfordshire, 7 Anglia Guides and 2 Gibraltar Guides with 4 brave leaders, will take part in the adventure of a lifetime as we head to the World Scout Jamboree in Japan. 3 and half weeks of hot climes, including a visit to Tokyo and a homestay with Japanese families. The Jamboree itself with the theme of "wa" or spirit of unity, will include a community project, and all participants will visit Hiroshima in its 70th anniversary year. Please follow our twitter, @wsj_beds2015 to find out how our unit is preparing!
