The Miss World contestants (with the help of their Miss World National Organisations) have set up Beauty with a Purpose projects in more than 100 countries. This gives tens of thousands of young women every year, the opportunity to use their abilities to make a real and lasting contribution to the lives of the sick and disadvantaged.

Story

This year I was lucky enough to be scouted for and chosen as a finalist in Miss Lincolnshire 2019. People have preconceptions of beauty pageants, however, one of the main aims of Miss World is to raise money for disadvantaged children globally and to combat the stereotypes of beauty pageants.

As a part of the finals, competitors are encouraged to raise money for the Miss World Charity Beauty with a purpose (http://www.beautywithapurpose.com/en/)

Beauty with a Purpose is the charitable arm of Miss World, which Julia Morley created in 1972, it aims to help disadvantaged children worldwide, by using the platform to raise awareness and fundraise.  Each contestant chooses a project close to their home and heart to work with and benefit, presenting their results at Miss World. We have no administration costs, no deductions, just 100% direct to those that need it the most.

As an active person, I wanted something that would challenge me in order to have the best possible experience while fundraising. For this reason, have decided to row the length of the English Channel (33 Km). While I enjoy the occasional warm up row- I am not a rower! I'm also the worst swimmer you'll ever meet so for this reason (along with the logistics of it all) I will be undertaking the challenge safe on dry land at Puregym Lincoln on March 31st.

Thank you for reading my page and I hope that you can donate to this amazing cause.
