Story
I am taking on the 2022 London Landmarks Half Marathon to support King's College Hospital Charity! 4 years ago I was rushed to Kings College after a fall one morning which resulted in me sustaining a traumatic brain injury. It transpired a had suffered a double brain haemorrhage, skull fractures and other issues. After initially having limited responsiveness for some time, due to the diligent and expert care of everyone at Kings College and the CCUs, the swelling on my brain subsided after a couple of months and I was discharged after a total of 3 months for a further 3 months convalescing at my parents’ home. Astonishingly I was able to go straight back to work immediately thereafter!I have had limited long terms affects (I appreciate latent effects happen), play 5 aside (with a rugby hat on just in case!), go to the gym as normal, play golf and have my life pretty much the way it was before. I am tremendously lucky I know, but I attribute being able to do all these things solely to the efforts, dedication, expertise and care of everyone at Kings. I have literally had a second chance of life because of Kings. The hospital will greatly appreciate any donation you can kindly spare in sponsoring my old legs for a half marathon however I’d appreciate it just a much.
