Story
My 9-year-old son Finley has been diagnosed with Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody Disease (MOGAD) disease this year which is a condition in which the body’s antibodies attack the central nervous system similar to MS; it has been a tough year with us also discovering Finley has complete heart block, which will mean him having a pacemaker fitted at some time in his future.
I was torn between doing this challenge for the British Heart Foundation or for MOGAD, but on reflection, MOGAD is such a rare
condition currently that it felt as though that would be where any money raised would go further.
The amazing medical specialists are learning new ways to diagnose and treat almost weekly. I would love for this page to help with that in a small way and hopefully make a difference with finding new ways to diagnose and treat this condition.
About me - I am nearly 40 (and will be by the time the race goes ahead!), overweight, very obviously not a runner, a type 1 diabetic and I have asthma, but I promise I will finish this 10-mile TAB carrying 35lb (15kg) on my back and wearing boots and trousers. Don't get me wrong, I will find it extremely difficult (understatement alert!), but I will finish... Thanks for visiting this page, and please do support however you can, every penny will help.
Thankyou,
Lloyd
