St Elizabeth Hospice Midnight Walk · 14 May 2011 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Along with some good friends I'm doing the midnight walk in memory of my mum, Marlene Phillips..
She was taken ill and on a routine x-ray they found a shadow on her lung, after more tests she was diagnosied with cancer, she stayed in hospital but there was nothing more they could do....
She was moved to the St Elizabeths Hospice in Ipswich.
The staff at the hospice were like angels sent from above to care for her. Everyone was so polite and helpful, as mum got weaker they moved her to a private room, and everybody came to say goodbye.
Her last wish was to die at home, the hospice organised this and within hours mum was at home.
Sadly on the 23-07-2009 mum was taken from us, she wasn't strong enough to fight anymore and was finally pain free and at peace.
It was a devastating time for the whole family. But i shall always remember those angels at the hospice who helped her in her final days.
So this is why i'm doing the Midnight Walk. I would like to raise as much money as possible for the St Elizabeth Hospice (suffolk), its time give something back.
