London Little Lights Walk 2019 · 16 November 2019 ·
As most of you know, me and Stacey are both those mums who had premature babies. Lily and Scarlett being born at just 32 weeks and Olly following suit being born at 33 weeks. The NICU journey is not an easy one. Your tiny little baby doesn’t make it straight for a cuddle with you- they are whisked away and tubes inserted ready to be monitored and checked over. You are allowed to hold their hand through an incubator but it can sometimes be days before you are allowed a cuddle. You have to go home and leave your baby in the care of someone else. Some days you get an amazing nurse and sometimes you get one that can almost make you feel inadequate of knowing what’s best for your own baby. Everyday is an uphill fight for the little ones and the steps forward can sometimes be so slight you don’t feel like you are getting anywhere at all.
However we are the lucky mums whose babies are now big and grown up and ready to give back to the charities that help early ones like them to survive.
Please give as little or as much as you can for Lily, Scarlett and Olly’s (and Lenny although not prem 👌🏻) lantern walk on the 16th of November. They will be walking 2km round London to raise money for sick and premature children.
