Story
I am supporting Alder Hey by aiming to complete 150km throughout the month of October.
I would not be here today if it were not for Alder Hey. They saved my life on Christmas Day when I was 2 years old and minutes away from death due to a severe asthma attack. My parents got me to Alder Hey just in time. We were lucky to have such a wonderful hospital on our door step. I'm sure most kids in Liverpool have attended Alder Hey for various reasons at some point in their childhood and most people know what incredible work they do for kids from all over the country.
This will be a challenge for me. Living with Long Covid and the chronic fatigue that comes with it has had a major effect on my day to day life. This challenge will help me get more active at a rate and pace that works with managing the condition.
Alder Hey Children's Hospital raises funds towards the pioneering work at Alder Hey. Your support ensures the 450,000 children we see each year will have access to the best facilities and equipment, and that the benefits of our innovating work are felt by families throughout the world.
Every pound raised for Alder Hey Children’s Charity can make a difference to children, young people and their families.
£5 can pay for a colouring book and pens to provide a child with creative distraction in hospital
£10 could help us to buy equipment, like state-of-the-art scanners and microscopes
£15 can help us to invest in research to help us understand life-threatening infections
If you can spare a few pennies it will be very much appreciated not only by me but by everyone who benefits through the charity's work.
Please support me if you can!
