ECPAT UK is a leading children's rights organisation working to protect children from child trafficking and transnational child exploitation. We support children everywhere to uphold their rights and to live a life free from abuse and exploitation.

Story

We've joined together to raise money for three charities, which for personal reasons mean a lot to us. They are St John's Hospice, ECPAT and Compaid.

We are looking to raise money for all three charities equally, so can you please donate to them in equal amounts, or be mindful of the amounts of each when donating.

Our team

38 cyclists predominantly from LNUK along with Colin Walker, Deputy Director of ECPAT UK.

A little more about the reasons we are supporting ECPAT

ECPAT UK is our ‘Rule of Law’ charity for  our cycle challenge. ECPAT UK stands for End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. The charity is a leading children’s rights organisation campaigning against the commercial sexual exploitation of children in the UK and on its international aspects. In particular, the charity focuses on the protection of trafficked children and children exploited in tourism and the prevention of such crimes. ECPAT UK is active in research, campaigning and lobbying government to prevent such exploitation. The charity has been instrumental in raising awareness in government of the plight of children trafficked into the UK for both sexual exploitation and for exploitative labour.

ECPAT UK has worked with partner organisations in the UK to enable young people to campaign against commercial sexual exploitation and to increase service provision and support child victims of trafficking. Some of their campaigns have been responsible for new legislation that can prosecute British nationals for crimes committed abroad.

Our journey

·        Day 1 (5th June) we set off early from Halsbury House, Chancery Lane in central London and cycle approximately 85 miles to Dover. We then travel by Ferry to Calais and then ride an additional 25 miles to Desvres. This completes Day 1.

·        Day 2 sees us plough further on towards Paris putting in another 80miles arriving in Amines.

·        Day 3 we complete our challenge arriving in Paris after an additional 85 miles.

You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
