Lost Hours Walk Local 2021 · 1 September 2021 to 31 December 2021 ·

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

On 30th October 2021 we are taking part in the LOST HOURS WALK in support of CALM (Campaign against living miserably). A team of us are walking 20 miles through the night around Gloucestershire, in memory of my Dad, Simon Gisborne and others whom we've lost.

In July 2010 we lost our Dad to suicide. Our worlds were turned upside down over night. Suicide is so traumatic by its suddenness and difficult to deal with because of its complexity. Dad was a loving, kind, fun, adventurous, person, whom we loved so very much.

We want to take part in The lost Hours Walk to remember Simon and others, to do something positive to raise awareness about suicide and to ensure that there is support for those who are left behind.

Someone once said to us,

"Losing someone to suicide gives you a limp. You will have it with you forever but it doesn't have to stop you from walking"

We are so looking forward to doing this walk, celebrating the amazing person Dad was and raising funds for such a great charity. We would be so grateful for your support and encouragement along the way!

xx

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably. From advice on our site, through to free, confidential chats with our helpline staff, online or on the phone, we’re here for whoever needs us, every day. No matter what. £8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
