Story
Lochan was a kind, generous, funny and talented young man. A gifted academic, poet, engineer, musician and sportsman – Lochan was above all, someone who enriched the lives of all who knew him.
The Rickmansworth and Watford Sea Cadet Unit was a family away from home for him. It is fitting that donations in his memory contribute to this wonderful organisation and the values it instils in young people. It has done so much in terms of the opportunities it offered Lochan for the past five years and the wonderful friendships he made there.
Lochan, an exceptional sailor, climbed to the rank of Able Sea Cadet. Dedicating so much of his time to volunteering, raising money for charity, and teaching fellow cadets, Lochan was warmly regarded by all who knew him and considered a role model to many.
His peers nominated him for the Jack Petchey Award for his selfless help. Lochan was presented with the Harry Lord Trophy for his enthusiasm in entering all courses, competitions and any opportunity offered by Sea Cadets.
Lochan was awarded the prestigious Commodore’s Broad Pennant for excelling as a Junior Cadet and took that brilliance into all that he achieved.
His loss will be deeply felt by so many people whose lives he touched over the past 14 years.
