Tardebigge Lock Challenge

Julie Miles is raising money for Worcester Birmingham & Droitwich Canal Society

Team: Home Edventurers

Tardebigge Challenge · 23 September 2021

The society was formed in 1969 to promote the restoration, conservation and improvement of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal and adjacent waterways.

Story

Emily, along with a group of other home educating children, will be completing the mighty Tardebigge lock flight.  The longest lock flight in Britain spanning a mammoth 30 locks.  We'll be on board the Worcester Birmingham & Droitwich Canal Society narrow boat, Cecilia.  This challenge will need a lot of hard work managing the boat down the flight and operating all 30 locks, but we hope to raise a good amount of money for Cecilia's charity, to help with her maintenance and ongoing repairs, and ensure she can remain afloat for many other local community groups to use.  We'd love your support here, and in person on the day if you're able to come along and give us a wave.  Full details of our route will be posted on the charity facebook page shortly before the event www.facebook.com/wbdcs.org.uk.
