Plymouth Hospitals Charity raises money so that NHS Trust staff can provide the best possible healthcare, above and beyond NHS funding. You donations are used to improve the experience of patients and families visiting hospitals and the staff that care for them.

Story

As Modbury locals you will know that we would ordinarily be taking part in various events for the May fair at this time.

One such event is the Modbury mile fun run! arguably the biggest and most anticipated event of the year..

This year I have liaised with a member of the May fair committee, and we have decided that this year, we'd like to keep the spirit of the May fair alive by holding an open event, in which runners can complete the Modbury Mile route, during their daily exercise, and submit their times to be added to the leaderboard!

This will also be a great opportunity to raise money for our fantastic NHS, thats where this page comes in. If you would like to walk, jog, or run the lockdown mile, please donate any amount as an 'entry fee' - All proceeds will go directly to the Plymouth hospitals charity.

To enter, simply run the mile, take a picture of your time and comment on the facebook post!

This open event will be finishing on the 31st May!

There will be a trophy for the winner!

Of course there are some safety points that you must adhere to:

1.You MUST Practice the government guidelines on social distancing.

2.Wear appropriate high visibility clothing - there is of course, no road closure as there usually is.

3.Stick to pavements where possible.

4.Do not use headphones, as you may not hear traffic.

5.All runners are taking part at their own risk!
