Story

Please read all the information below which includes important information on how to donate and receive your copy of the poetry collection.

In May this year Central Tramway Co in Scarborough ran their annual children's poetry competition for children 5-11. But this wasn't a usual year.

We opened the remit for the poems so children could write about whatever they wanted. It was the midst of the Covid lockdown so children wrote about what they were experiencing, sharing their feelings and emotions on the pages of their poems.

The winners were announced on the 8th of June. But there were so many fantastic poems that we felt should be celebrated and recognised this year that we decided to put them together in a unique collection to raise money for YoungMinds a charity dedicated to making sure all young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life's challenges. Young people need their support now more than ever.

The cost of the collection is a minimum £3 donation - and includes exclusive artwork by Tess Willoughby, and forewords by Liz Dyer of the Literacy Trust, and poet and judge of the competition, Felix Hodcroft. All the money raised will go direct via the JustGiving Page to the charity.

IMPORTANT: Once you have made your donation please forward your email confirmation or a screen grab of your donation to lockdownpoetrycollection@gmail.com to receive your digital download.

Please be patient, all orders are processed manually. The collection will be sent as a 40 page pdf download within 24 hours of us receiving your confirmation email.

We ask in the spirit of this endeavour that you avoid sharing the collection with friends and family for free. Information on the copyright is included in the digital publication. Instead please share this link with them explaining how they can donate and receive their own copy online.

Thank you for your donation. Your support is much appreciated in both letting young voices be heard and for raising awareness of mental health issues in young people through the work of YoungMinds.
