Story
I can't imagine what it must be like to be homeless. I think it would be very frightening. My Mum told me that in the last year the people that live in Caritas Anchor House have been in their rooms nearly all the time because all the shared spaces are closed because of coronavirus and social distancing. It made me realise how lucky I am, so I want to try and help by raising awareness of homelessness and money to support them.
With one in 24 people experiencing homelessness in Newham, where Caritas Anchor House has a large service, I thought that I could try and see what it would be like if you were on your own in just one room for 24 hours. I think it will be really hard and lonely and I hope I can manage it.
I would love it if you could sponsor me, it will really encourage me to stick to it! For every £50 I raise it could pay for someone to do an e-learning training course to help them to leave homelessness behind for good.
I will send some updates on the day to let you know how I'm getting on.
Here is some more information about the charity I'm raising money for...
Caritas Anchor House is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support to single homeless adults in the London Borough of Newham. The charity's driving mission is to ensure that those who walk through their doors grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, self-fulfilling lives by providing education, guidance and personal rehabilitation.
