Story

Tough Mudder is an endurance event series in which participants attempt 10–12-mile-long (16–19 km) military-style obstacle courses. Designed and created by British Special Forces to test mental as well as physical strength, obstacles often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights. The main principle of the Tough Mudder revolves around teamwork. The Tough Mudder organisation values camaraderie throughout the course, designing obstacles that encourage group participation. Participants must commit to helping others complete the course, putting teammates before themselves, and overcoming fears.

Ian Hutcheon Clinic for Children (IHCC) is a charity dedicated to delivering improved hearing healthcare for underprivileged children in developing countries focusing on prevention of disabling hearing loss.

The first program has started in Uganda and offers simple, cost effective measures, such as:

1) The treatment of acute and chronic ear infections which prevents the most common cause of hearing loss in developing countries.

2) The implementation of hearing screening from birth using the latest portable machine to allow for early detection of hearing loss.

3) The provision and fitting of recycled and re- conditioned hearing aids preferably before development of speech and language  in order to greatly reduce the devastating impact of hearing loss on a child’s quality of life.

With help and support children are encouraged to reach their true potential in life.

IHCC can make a real difference to the lives of many underprivileged children in Uganda.

Please help me to raise funds for this worthy charity so that many children are prevented from being condemned to a life of disabling hearing loss.
