Story

Emily Fisher, Jess King, Rob Sims, Alex McNair, Dannii Vary and Joanna Mazewska will be climbing the 3 tallest peaks on mainland UK; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. We aim to complete these climbs in 48 hours. Kevin Long and Trev will be acting as support crew, driving and setting up, enabling us to focus on our climbs. All costs (bus hire, petrol etc) will be paid by us, meaning all money donated will go straight to the charity.

The Loddon School is both home and school for 28 children who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties, meaning they can no longer live at home. Many children also have additional problems associated with autism and epilepsy, including self injury, aggression and disruptive behaviour. It is the only school of its kind in the UK.

The challenge is being undertaken to raise money to rejuvenate the Adventure Playground at The Loddon School, which is in need of improvement. Our children have differences in their sensory processing as well as no sense of danger, so our aim is to create a safe space for play that is suitable for their needs. As staff and former staff of the school we know what an impact a new play space geared to their needs could make for the children here.

This is also a huge personal challenge for all of us, with some members never having been near a mountain before and none of us having ever attempted something of this size!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Any donation however small will be greatly appreciated, by us, and most importantly by our very special children.
