Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Lola’s Batmitzvah is fast approaching. Lola really wants to make sure that she carries out the "mitzvah" part of her "Bat mitzvah."

Lola is twinning her bat mitzvah with a young Ethiopian, Jewish girl named Shirley who is not as fortunate as her and helping Shirley to share in her good fortune. Shirley lives at the Emunah Afula Children's Centre, a home for abandoned, abused, and at-risk children.

Lola was fortunate enough to travel to Afula in June where she spent the day with Shirley. Although Shirley is very shy and finds it hard to trust people, by the end of the afternoon Lola’s warm smile and friendly manner meant the two had become firm friends.

Shirley’s Bat mitzvah will be next May and Lola would like to work to earn money to contribute to Shirley’s special day.
