Story
In April, I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 in celebration of my lovely Dad and in support of Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s someone’s dad, brother, partner, or friend. My Dad was first diagnosed 7 years ago and responded well to early treatment, meaning things were under control for 6 years- that in its self is worth celebrating. Sadly in 2024 our lives changed forever when we found out it had returned. Not a day goes by where we don’t miss him, talk about him or still do things just because he liked doing that.
Throughout his illness, even at the worst of times, he never complained once, remained true to himself, made everyone laugh, smiled through the pain, put others first and was constantly kind. This is something I strive to continue and use his strength everyday to guide me through.
Cancer is a cruel disease which leaves behind a trail of experiences no one should ever have to go through and sadly it seems more and more of us are being affected by cancer every year. Hopefully by raising money for this important cause I will not only contribute to saving lives but giving people those extra years they may not of had prior to an early diagnosis and treatment. Whether you can donate £1, £5 or even more I will be forever grateful and you’ll know you are contributing to making a big difference to someones and their families life.
💙 To the best man I’ll ever know, the best Dad we could ever ask for and my best friend- this ones for you. I hope you are as proud of me as I am you.💙
